Pastor's Personal Blog

Kelvin Heitmann is an ordained elder and full member of the Kansas West Conference of the United Methodist Church. His education includes a B.S. in Education from Emporia State University, Emporia, Kansas and a Masters of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary, Wilmore, Kentucky. He also has a Doctor of Ministry degree in pastoral counseling from Phillips Theological Seminary, Tulsa, Oklahoma. The pastoral counseling training included supervision from counselors at the Counseling and Mediation Center, Wichita, Kansas.

Kelvin has served United Methodist churches throughout rural Kansas for the last 24 years. Preaching, teaching, singing, counseling and church administration are among his gifted areas of ministry. Pastor Kelvin focuses on being environmentally sound and discovering a sustainable future for this good Earth. He loves rural life and the Kansas prairie. He enjoys applying video and graphic technologies to worship in order to enhance the experience of worship and communicate more effectively to younger generations.

Kelvin is married to Donna and they have three grown children. They also enjoy being grandparents of Isaac and Adelia.

 

 

 

Individual and Family Counseling

Pastor Kelvin has received advanced training in pastoral counseling and welcomes persons who wish to receive short-term counseling. He focuses on ecotherapeutic interventions, which extends our understanding of relationships and spirituality to include the natural world. He has over twenty years of experience as a pastoral counselor and a doctor of ministry degree in pastoral counseling. Please contact him at kelvin@pld.com to inquire or to set up an initial session. There is no charge for his services and church members receive priority in scheduling sessions.
