Banana Pecan Squares

 

1 1/2 cup flour 1/2 cup butter
1/2 tsp. baking soda 3/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. salt 1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup mashed bananas
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Mix flour, baking soda, and salt and set aside.

Cream butter and sugar until light & fluffy.  Beat in egg, vanilla, and bananas.  Mix well.

Stir in flour mixture until well blended; stir in chopped nuts.

Spread in greased 9-inch square pan.

I double this recipe and put in a sheet cake pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.  Cool.  Cut into 3-inch squares.
