CATTLEWOMEN, KBC RECRUITING ADVOCATES

Anyone with a passion for the beef industry is invited to
join the network. To receive materials electronically, e-mail
deena@kansasbeef.org with Beef Advocate Network in the subject line.
Those wishing to receive information in the mail can provide their name
and mailing address to KBC by calling (785) 273-5225.

The Kansas CattleWomen and Kansas Beef Council (KBC) are
forming a new beef advocacy group to distribute positive messages about
the industry and its product. Volunteer members of the Beef Advocate
Network will be equipped to share the latest checkoff-funded research
about beef's role in a healthy diet and the industry's economic
contributions. They also will serve as the industry's "eyes and ears" in
identifying and responding to false or misleading information about
beef.

Examples of the network's grassroots actions will include
delivering a checkoff food safety news release to the local newspaper,
making a presentation on value cuts to a civic organization, asking a
school to take advantage of KBC's beef certificate program or countering
misinformation through a letter to the editor. Regular communication
containing factual, positive beef information will be sent to network
members by KBC.
