May 1st the high school auditorium was bustling activity. From moving the risers for choir, to filling the stage with instruments, the school kids and their directors prepared to showcase their talents to the community of Holcomb. Due to a scheduling conflict, the band and choir concerts were held the same night.

The choir started off the evening with the sixth graders, who performed a piece called “Pop-bottle Hoedown.” To make the piece ultra original, several students blew into glass pop bottles filled with water to provide background music. The seventh and eighth graders were next on the agenda with a couple of songs, one being sung in Italian! They did a spectacular job! The high school combined choir then performed their contest pieces and a song from the musical Rent. Shortly following was the Show Choir, performing their contests pieces and ensembles. Congratulations to all members of choir for an outstanding performance.

After the choir concert, the middle school and high school bands, under the direction of Mr. Tom Lee, performed. The high school performed both of their contest pieces, as well as a Scottish piece entitled Lord of the Dance. Great job band for your awesome performance!
