Big Brothers / Big Sisters

participates in the Big Brothers/ Big Sisters School-Based Mentoring Program.
The high school or college-age student who participates has to apply, go
through a screening process, and is then matched with a student who has been
referred by a teacher, parent, or other adult. Once the match is made, the
contact between the mentor and child is only during school and can include
reading with the student, tutoring in any subject, or working with small groups
that include that student.
Big
Brothers/Big Sisters is not only beneficial to the younger student; it can be
very rewarding for the mentor as well as a great service project to use on
scholarship applications and résumé's.
