Physical Education

We have finished our first round of fitness testing on 4th and 5th grade students.  The majority of our students scored in the HEALTHY FITNESS ZONE on all five tests.  We will be testing students again during the 3rd nine weeks in order to share information with parents during Parent/Teacher Conferences.

In coordination with the GENERATION FITNESS GRANT, we will be having a Family Health and Fitness Night sometime this spring!  Also, we will be sponsoring a Jump and Hoops for Heart event in February.  Be looking for more information on these upcoming events.

 Health

Students in grades 1-2 are working on becoming GERM BUSTERS!  Knowing what causes us to get sick and how to stay healthy are upcoming topics.

Students in grades 3-5 have been learning valuable information found on food labels. Making wise food decisions based on the General Guide to Calories and the Quick Guide to % Daily Values are strategies that 4th and 5th grade students are learning.

Swimming

ATTENTION:  If your child’s teacher sends swim suits home to wash, please make sure that they come back to school.  Since Christmas, there are many students who have missed their swimming day because they have NO SUIT!  Your help is greatly appreciated.
