Assessment consists of an articulation screening or test which examines all speech sounds in the initial, medial and final positions of words.

Treatment can consist of oral-motor exercises to train the speech helpers (tongue, lips and jaw) to be placed in the correct position for certain sounds. The clinician provides modeling and instruction on where to put the speech helpers as well as the correct production of the target sound. Therapy typically begins with the production of the sound in isolation, words, phrases, sentences, reading and finally conversation.

Voice: Voice is the pitch, quality and loudness of your speech.

Fluency: Fluency is the flow or rhythm of our speech.

Stuttering and cluttering are two types of fluency disorders.

Hearing: Hearing is our response to sound waves.

Language: Language is many things. It includes vocabulary, syntax and listening skills.
